Hrh Duke Of Edinburgh

10th June 1921 - 9th April 2021

Hanham Abbots Parish Council sends sincere condolences to HM Queen Elizabeth ll and the Royal Family on the passing of HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Such sad news for Great Britain, the Commonwealth and the World.

Many people will want to express their sadness at the passing of HRH Prince Philip in their own way and South Gloucestershire Council have an online book of condolence which can be found at www.southglos.gov.uk/condolence.  Alternatively, Buckingham Palace has organised an online book of condolence on the Royal Family website

In lieu of placing flowers, Buckingham Palace has asked that people consider donating to one of the charities with which Prince Philip was associated.  If people do wish to place flowers, South Gloucestershire Council will make a place available in both Page Park in Staple Hill and in Kingswood Park.  Alternatively, in recognition of his distinguished military service and long association with the forces, flowers may be placed at local war memorials.  South Gloucestershire Council will leave any flowers left safely in place for a period before relocating them to an appropriate, public location.
